About Biokinetics

Biokinetcis utilizes the only FCE system that has been identified by the American Medical Association as a "good method for identifying sincerity of effort during functional testing."

The AMA published The Guides to the Evaluation of Functional Testing in 2009 and examined all commercially available FCE systems on the market. The Blankenship Method was the only method that met the AMA's criteria to be endorsed as a good tool for screening patients for the level of effort during functional testing.

This ensures an unbiased examination and ensures accurate identification of current functional abilities. To often workers' compensation and personal injury cases involve differing "opinions" each slanted heavily for or against and do not accurately capture the patient's condition.

Biokinetics uses advanced computerized testing combined with expert evaluators to produce an easy to read report that objectifies a person's material handling and nonmaterial handling ability. We follow the guidelines established by the Federal Government in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles to report functional ability.

The testing incorporates Static Strength Testing researched by the National Institute of Safety and Health (NIOSH) to quantify relative functional loss,Computerized testing of muscle strength, grip and pinch strength, spinal inclinometer, and even soft tissue tenderness (dolorimetry) to provide exact measurements that can be compared to population norms or the patient's healthy other side to establish accurate loss and thereby painting a precise picture of their functional state.
